Vietnam: T&T interested in investing in Hanoi rail station

07_vietnamThe T&T Group has asked the Transport Ministry to allow it to invest in the Hanoi Railway Station. Another company interested in the rail station is Vingroup, which previously offered to buy Hanoi, Saigon and Danang railway stations. The Hanoi Railway Station was established in 1902 and was rebuilt in 1976, becoming one of the largest train stations in Vietnam.
The private companies’ intentions come in response to the government’s policies, since the Transport Ministry intends to attract private investors for railway stations. Transport Minister Dinh La Thang has asked the Vietnam Railway Corporation and related entities to make plans for selling the operational rights of railway stations and to issue bids to choose the best offers.
