Ukraine to get EUR 3.74 mln from EU to develop transport sector

ukrThe European Union’s EUR 3.74 million technical assistance project designed for 2016-2018 and entitled “Support to the Implementation of the Association Agreement and of the National Strategy in the Transport Sector in Ukraine” has been launched in Ukraine.
The project is to harmonize legislation and modernize the transport sector in Ukraine in accordance with our obligations under the Association Agreement with the EU.
The assistance from the European side will allow updating the national transport strategy of Ukraine and bringing it into line with EU standards.
The Ukrainian side has to adapt, implement and apply the EU’s five priority directives and regulations in the transport sector, enhance the qualification of staff, strengthen cooperation with European transport agencies, ensure legal regulation of multimodal transport, increase the transparency and efficiency of state administration in the transport sector, as well as bring policy developing the national transportation network close to the transport policy of the EU.
