Toronto: tender launched for light rail project

04-torontoInfrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have issued a request for qualifications for a project to design, build, finance and maintain the Finch West light rail transit scheme. The cost is estimated at CA$1.2bn (EUR 820 million).
The project includes 11 km of new line, 18 surface stops and a below-grade interchange station. The contract also includes a maintenance and storage facility for the light rail vehicles.
Submissions will be evaluated to prequalify project teams with the relevant design and construction experience, and the capacity to finance and deliver a project of this size and complexity. Teams who qualify will be invited to respond to a request for proposals.
