Transmashholding has supplied Shubarkol Komir, one of Kazakhstan’s largest thermal coal producer, the mainline freight diesel locomotive 2TE25KM, manufactured at the Bryansk Machine Building Plant.
The 2TE25KM diesel locomotive is a mainline freight two-section diesel locomotive with AC/DC electric transmission with by-axle traction force adjustment. 90% of the components integrated into the locomotive construction are local.
The use of modern powerful locomotive 2TE25KM allows the company to increase the supply of coal, improve the efficiency of infrastructure operation.
The commissioning of the new locomotive will contribute to the company’s plans to increase the shipment of coal to consumers.
In operation, the locomotive demonstrates moderate fuel consumption and lower operating costs in comparison with old-series diesel locomotives. The base model 2TE25K was produced from 2005 to 2009. In 2014 began the mass production of the advanced version of 2TE25KM.
Shubarkol Komir operates two open pit coal mines – Centralny and Zapadny, with a total coal production of 8.8 million tonnes of coal per year, covering 25% of fuel needed in Kazakhstan.
