SZDC finalizes reconstruction of Horažďovice předměstí railway station

02-cehiaThe Czech railway infrastructure administrator  Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SZDC) reconstructed the railway station Horažďovice předměstí, situated on the partially double-tracked line České Budějovice – Plzeň.
The construction included building a new centre platform (roofed in part) and a side platform. Track developments on both station ends and current culverts were also reconstructed. Information panels were added to the platforms, waiting rooms and cash desks were equipped with monitors displaying current train departures.
Safety and signalling equipment on the line is automatic. Adaptations were also carried out on the technological building, station safety equipment and local cables, on technological networks for information equipment connection, on camera systems and the buildings’ safeguarding. A new antenna mast of the track radio system (TRS) was built as well.
The project cost CZK 638 million (23.6 million euros) and was approved for co-financing by the European Union under the Operational Programme Transport with a planned amount reaching up to CZK 501 million (18.5 million euros).
