Serbia and France to partner for Belgrade metro construction

04-belgradSerbia presented this week a project for the construction of Belgrade Metro before representatives of French groups Alstom and Egis. This follows after Serbian prime minister Aleksandar Vucic and his French counterpart Manuel Valls signed a memorandum of understanding on the construction of the Belgrade Metro on 6 November. Under the terms of the MoU, both governments will co-finance the project, which is to be completed in three and a half years.
Belgrade city authorities have developed a master plan for the project and are now working on a feasibility study, Belgrade mayor Sinisa Mali said. A detailed plan for the construction of the underground railway will be presented soon, he added.
Belgrade authorities also presented an integrated transport system strategic plan, which contains proposals for the possible routes of the metro line, the Serbian government said.
