Russia: Aeroexpress reports almost 100% punctuality of train services

Aeroexpress train services have improved accuracy from 99.8% last year to 99.9% in the first half of this year on routes to/from Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo. The accuracy of Aeroexpress trains serving the Vnukovo link held steady at 99.8%. The factors taken into account when calculating the level of train services accuracy include trains’ regularity, compliance with departure and arrival times, and lack of timetable disturbance.

An analysis of the rolling stock’s operation and maintenance processes showed an increase in Aeroexpress’ travel safety and security level from 96.7% in 2016 to 99.9% in the first part of 2017.

The Aeroexpress Train Safety and Security Department carried out the comparative analysis of train service accuracy and travel safety and security based on results from the first six months of the year. These high results were achieved thanks to organizational and technical measures taken by the company in order to enhance safety and security levels during travel. These measures include staff training, improving technical regulations, and replacing equipment previously deemed faulty.

“Aeroexpress is constantly striving to enhance its travel safety and security level. The accuracy of train services plays a significant role in attaining high results. Although a safety and security level of 96.7% is considered acceptable, we have done a lot of work to obtain maximum results, which we achieved in June 2017. This means that risks for Aeroexpress passengers related to their journeys to Moscow airports and back to the capital have been reduced to a minimum,” said Valery Fyodorov, COO of Aeroexpress.
