Romania: the first electric locomotive with remote control based on battery, completed

euroestRomania Euroest, INDA Craiova, Integral Consulting R&D and Resita Reductoare and Regenerabile announced that they completed the first Romanian electric locomotive with
remote control based on battery. The locomotive was obtained by modifying a Diesel Hydraulic Locomotive of 1250 HP.
This new locomotive meets the specific operational conditions of ArcelorMittal Galati, achieving a maximum speed of 5 km/h or 15 km/h, a maximum 1500 t hauled tonnage and an
autonomy of 12 hours of operation and recharging within 2 hours.
The locomotive will be used by ArcelorMittal Galati and Unicom Tranzit.
It will be launched on 17 June 2015, and according to the received orders, the companies will start works for the next two locomotives.
