Prague-metro_img024The Prague Public Transit Company (Dopravní podnik Prahy – DPP) awarded Metroprojekt with a CZK 440 million (EUR 16 million) to prepare the design study for the driverless metro line D.
The entire project is estimated at a cost of CZK 50 billion (EUR 1.9 billion).
Metroprojekt was also responsible for the design of the new extension of Metro A line, which opened in April 2015.
Eight new stops will be implemented along the driverless line, which will also cross existing stations on Line A (at Náměstí Míru) and Line C (at Pankrác).
The first section of the Line, which will stretch for eight stations between Pankrác and Depo Písnice, is set to be completed by 2022.
The central two extensions to the line, at Náměstí Bratří Synků and Náměstí Míru, will be completed at a later date.
