Poznan to purchase new trams

poznanEuropean Investment Bank has under appraisal Poznan Tram III phase co-financing. The project involves the acquisition of new trams and the modernisation of the existing rolling stock fleet, as well as the purchase of buses in the Polish city. In addition, the project includes the modernisation of the existing depots – mainly purchase of new equipment, necessary due to purchase of new trams.
The total value of the project is PLN 967 million (EUR 219 million), and the proposed EIB financing is PLN 483 million (EUR 110 million).
The project is part of a plan to improve the public transport within the city and it is primarily necessitated by the age of the current fleet, currently some of the rolling stock is over 25 years old. All trams and buses will be used within the city of Poznan and environs. The depots are also located within the city of Poznan.
