Oslo to Stockholm high speed trains launched

Sweden-X2000_Sweden-x2000-copenhagenSwedish national rail passenger operator SJ launched services between Oslo, the Norwegian capitals and Stockholm, the Swedish capital. The trip between the two cities takes 4 hours and 30 minutes to be completed on a distance of 572 km. The train, X2000, is Sweden’s 200km/h tilting high-speed train, operating on the Copenhagen-Malmo-Stockholm and Gothenburg-Stockholm routes amongst others.
All trains are equipped with Wi-Fi for passenger access to the Internet. The trains also have electric power supply sockets at all seats in both first and second class. The trains have been fitted with repeaters to improve mobile phone reception.
Prior to that, two daily trains ran from Stockholm to Oslo and vice versa. On August 10 launched its high-speed flagship X2000 train on the line with three departures a day between the two capitals.
By cutting journey times from six to four-and-a-half hours, the company had hoped to attract some of the business travellers commuting between the two cities, who currently mostly choose to fly.
