New Ankara – Istanbul planned high speed rail

Ankara-Istanbul_indexTurkish Transport Minister Lütfi Elvan announced, in the opening of EurasiaRail Fair, that a new high speed line is planned to be constructed between Ankara and Istanbul. The new line will be constructed between Kosekoy and Sincan, allowing a speed upto 400 km/h and will take 1 hour 15 minutes, railturkey.org informs. The current line is going through Eskisehir and the travel time is 4 hours. Government plans to find a contractor who will build the line with its own funds and operate it for a period in exchange.
