NEVZ delivers freight locomotives to Transoil

The Novocherkassk Electric Locomotives Plant (NEVZ), part of Transmashholding, has delivered 8 DC freight ‘Donchak’ locomotives with direct current traction motor 2ES4K to Transoil Transport and Logistics Group. The agreement on the delivery of the electric locomotives was signed in 2017. The new electric locomotives will be operated on the Kirishi-Luzhskaya-Neftyanaya routes.
The design of the 2ES4K mainline freight DC electric ‘Donchak’ locomotive comprises motor-axle rolling bearings, to extend intervals between technical maintenance and repairs, as well as reduce operating costs. ‘Donchak’ locomotives can be accelerated to the maximum allowed speed on ascents. ‘Donchak’ electric locomotives have been used by Transoil since 2013.
