Lucknow Metro starts singalling tests on North-South Corridor

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has commenced on January 12 the signaling and integrated testing trials between Transport Nagar station and Chaudhary Charan Singh station. With this milestone, Lucknow Metro is now inching closer towards commissioning of the whole 22.9 km and 21 stations long North-South Corridor (Phase 1A) from CCS Airport to Munshipulia.
The metro trains are fitted with CBTC signalling system providing Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system for automatic braking to prevent any collision. The Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) system has been provided to ensure automatic management of train movement by Automatic Route Setting and Automatic Train Regulation by supervising the train movement continuously and optimizing the train movements in case of abnormalities.
The integrated signalling trial will also test the ATP and other aspects of the CBTC. The signalling testing is also being verified and validated by an international Independent Safety Assessor (ISA).
“I am glad for this fabulous victory and congratulate all the employees of the LMRC on this wonderful moment of success,’ Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director of LMRC said.
