Indian government approves rail MoU with Sweden

india-swThe Indian government approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between India and Sweden on 15 February 2016 on technical cooperation in the railway sector. The MoU was approved by the Union Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The MoU will enable technical cooperation in railways policy development, regulations and exchange of knowledge. In addition, the MoU entails cooperation in areas such as freight operations in cold regions, capacity allocation and optimisation of maintenance.
The MoU will also facilitate training and education programs in reliability and maintenance of rail transport systems for engineers and managers.
