India: contract awarded for Tupul-Imphal rail tunnel

hccHCC Ltd has been awarded a contract by Northeast Frontier Railway under a joint venture with Coastal Projects Ltd. for developing a 9.5 km tunnel between Tupul and Imphal. The tunnel will be developed under the project for the new railway line Jiribam-Tupul.
The value of the contract is Rs 7.85 billion (113 million euros). The project is to be completed in 40 months. The share of HCC in the joint venture is 60%.
