France: Over 10,000 railway jobs face cuts

The representatives of the railway companies have warned that according to the present specifications, without new orders, a significant number of jobs could be cut. A document presented by the Strategic Committee of the railway sector which reunites the totality of the parties involved in this area shows that the number of jobs that could be cut by 2018 is of 10,000 of the total 30,000. The most pessimistic perspectives are in the production of high-speed trains and of regional trains. The most affected companies are Alstom and Bombardier.
