France: Coradia Liner trains will be delivered a year late

sncf_coradia-linerThe first Coradia Liner units ordered by SNCF in 2013 will become part of SNCF’s rolling stock only at the end of 2016, a year late, because of Alstom’s problems. The 34 Coradia Liner units have been ordered to replace part of the old Corail trains. SNCF and Alstom are currently negotiating the delay penalties. According to sources, the cause of the delay would have been the last year’s financial issues of CEIT tasked with the interior arrangement of trains.
