Winning the World Expo in 2020 has put the Metro plans on a new track. The importance of connecting the dots in Jebel Ali area, where the World Expo will be held, have become more important than ever. Existing plans were prioritised and new ideas were created. Although some plans are still under discussion, some communities can already anticipate on a near future connection, as the blueprints have been revealed. Both the Red and the Green Line will be extended to connect to a number of new communities.
