DB merges its engineering business in a single company

Deutsche Bahn has reorganised its infrastructure engineering business. As of 1 April, DB ProjektBau and DB International had been merged to form DB Engineering & Consulting (DB E&C). DB’s expertise in national infrastructure projects and its international engineering and consulting expertise are now consolidated in a single company.
“By merging these two units, we are creating synergy, improving our efficiency and bundling our expertise in the relevant disciplines. We are tackling challenges head on”, Volker Kefer, Vice-Chairman and Member of the Management Board for the Infrastructure, Services and Technology Division at Deutsche Bahn said.
DB Engineering & Consulting works in design and construction supervision, in fields such as structural engineering, transport facilities and electromechanical engineering; design and acceptance testing; environment, geotechnical engineering and surveying; and project management and consulting. Within Germany, DB E&C is represented by a number of locations in DB’s seven regions.
