Czech railways improve safety on Trutnov-Teplice line

06-szdcThe Czech railway infrastructure administration SŽDC launched the modernisation of railway crossings on the line Trutnov – Teplice nad Metují. The most important aim of the project is increasing railway transport safety, ease of railway and road operation and ensuring higher comfort for passengers.
The project concernes the reconstruction of 14 railway crossings with light crossing safety equipment (PZS) on level crossings of the regional line Trutnov střed – Teplice nad Metují with roads of various levels. Construction works will also include repairs of carriageways, installation of power feeding for respective crossing installations and an exchange of the railway superstructure and substructure.
The project has been awarded to AŽD Praha. The project is estimated at 115.7 million CZK (4.2 million euros) and is co-financed by the European Union from its Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport.
