Austria and Czech Rep., agreement on rail modernization

OBBCzech Transport Minister, Dan Ťok, and his Austrian counterpart, Alois Stöger, signed an agreement on the modernization of railway infrastructure, Czech Transport Ministry said.
According to the memorandum, a train journey on Prague – Vienna via Břeclav route should shorten by 25 minutes to three hours and 45 minutes within 10 years.
The Czech side pledged to shorten the length of the journey from Prague to Břeclav by 15 minutes to three hours by modernizing the rail track, and Austria made a similar pledge to renew its infrastructure, Czech minister said.
According to the agreement, the journey from Prague to Linz via České Budějovice, south Bohemia, will shorten by an hour to less than four hours in the future, the ministry said.
