Australia: Adani receives approval for railway project

Indian conglomerate Adani Mining has received the approval of the Australian Government for the development of a railway project worth AUD 2.2 Billion (EUR 1.5 Billion). The project includes the construction of a railway for the conglomerate’s Carmichael mine.
The 300km railway, called North Galilee Basin Rail (NGBR), will connect the Camichael coal mine to the Abbot terminal. The railway will ensure the transport of 100 million tonnes of coal per year.
