Adif to lease Albacete terminal areas

Adif has started the tender procedure to lease spaces at Albacete freight terminal which cover an area of 39,365 m2 of which 10,600 m2 in the north part of the terminal attached to the Renfe manufacturing and maintenance workshops. The tendered area also includes a 8,000 m2 logistics zone with intermodal services, storage and truck-train transfer facilities for 340m freight trains.

The winner of the tender will deliver rail related transport services for a period of 10 years with a possibility to be extended. The interested companies must submit their bid until April 28, 2022, and on May 5 all the received offers will be announced and assessed.

EUR 3.8 million is the minimum estimated value for the 10-year leasing an operation contract which also includes a 5-year extension option for a minimum of EUR 2.24 million (VAT not included).

Under the contract, the winner must invest a minimum amount of EUR 10 million to develop the existing areas and facilities in the first five years.

The successful bidder must make investments of a minimum amount of 10 million euros in the spaces and facilities that are the object of the tender.These investments must be carried out in the first five years of the term of the contract.

Albacete freight terminal is owned by Adif and is located on Calle Felipe V, northeast of the city, between the A-31 and A-32 highways, and the Albacete-Los Llanos station. The terminal has direct connections with Madrid, Valencia, Alicante and Murcia.
