20 rail projects with a total requested funding of EUR 180 million were sent to INEA under the 2018 CEF Transport call. EUR 100 million is the available funding for these projects. 14 rail interoperability projects with a EUR 86.7 million requested funding and 6 ERTMS projects with a EUR 93.3 million requested funding were submitted.
In total, under the 2018 CEF Transport call, INEA received 148 project proposals requesting EUR 929 million co-funding, with a EUR 450 million available call budget.
Evaluation of the proposals will start in November, and the grant agreements with the successful applicants will be prepared as of April 2019.
The call covers funding objectives and priorities supporting the policy orientations of the 3rd Clean Mobility Package. The focus of financial assistance will thus be on transport digitalisation, road safety and multimodality.
