Mozambique prioritizes increasing capacity of Sena rail line

01_mozambicThe completion of the second phase of the refurbishment and modernisation of the Sena railroad, in Sofala province, is one of the priorities for 2015 in the transport and communications sector in Mozambique, according to the country’s Transport and Communications Minister Carlos Mesquita. The work underway on the Sena railroad will give it a transport capacity of 22 million tons of coal per year.
The ministry’s priorities also included the Tete/Nacala rail corridor, he added, as well as the acquisition, this year, of 70 passenger carriages and other rolling stock for cargo transport.
