Latvia and Belarus to increase transit cooperation

03-latvia-belarusLatvia and Belarus agreed in Minsk on closer cooperation in transit. The parties signed two agreements: one of closer cooperation in deciding on transit corridor tariffs, service provision and market, and the other on more efficient circulation of electronic documents between the two countries.

An important step has thus been made in relation to the agreement with Belarus on a common multifunctional tariff in the Latvian-Belarus transit corridor, Latvijas Dzelzcels railway company board chairman Edvins Berzins said. The parties have already discussed further steps for the transit corridors to work more efficiently and attract new cargos.
