Kazakhstan to have separate rail infrastructure operator

04-kazakhstanKazakhstan railway company Kazakstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) will undergo another series of reforms. The Kazakhstan Government intends to establish a company that would manage the rail infrastructure, rrcrail.com reports.  The company, called AO KTZ-Infrastructure, will provide access to the mainline network for national and private operators. The company is to be Government-regulated.
“The goal of the reform is achieving compliance of the pricing, service and contract policies for freight transportation to the current requirements of the diversified transportation and logistics market. The reform is to be executed as part of the governmental policy for transit transportation development”, the Ministry of Investments and Development said.
