Idom wins the second Rail Baltica design contract in Lithuania

RB Rail announced that Idom Consulting, Engineering, Architecture won the tender on the design and design supervision services for the construction of second rail section in Lithuania.
Under a EUR 7.97 million proposal, Idom will provide design services for the Ramygala – Lithuanian/Latvian border section, woth a total length of 91 km. The line includes 3 railway bridges, 14 road viaducts, 20 railway viaducts, 4 animal crossings and the Panevėžys international passenger railway station.
Within 24 months the Idom will deliver site investigations, preparation of the master design, value engineering and detailed technical design. In addition, following the completion of design works, the company will ensure author’s supervision during the construction phase.
In Lithuania, two sections out of four, spanning from Kaunas to the Lithuanian/Latvian border have been procured. Idom won both tenders and the first design contract for the Kaunas – Ramygala section was signed in April.
