Budapest Metro Line 3 operates with upgraded rolling stock

As of 3 April, only upgraded trains operate on Line 3 of the Budapest Metro. The overhaul was carried out by Metrovagonmash, part of Transmashholding, under a contract signed in 2015 with the Budapest Transport Company (BKV).
The result was achieved through close and effective cooperation with the Budapest Metro and the Budapest Transport Company. At the present time, BKV continues system reconstructing and radical updating of the M3 line.
A total of 37 train sets (222 metro cars) are subject to modernization under the contract between Metrovagonmash and BKV. According to the schedule, the last one is expected to be put into operation in June 2018. Trains are subjected to multiple testing, with special attention paid to their quality, and rigorous adjusting before starting operations.
