Bombardier’s 20-year maintenance contract was signed with Bangkok Mass Transit System Public

Bombardier Transportation announced that Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Co. Ltd. (BTSC) is the previously undisclosed customer that signed a contract for 20 years of maintenance services.
The maintenance services contract for Innovia monorail 300 system was announced in July 2018 at has a value of EUR 245 million.
“Our focus is to ensure the highest levels of passenger safety, comfort and performance and this agreement ensures we will strengthen system performance by drawing on Bombardier’s expertise to provide full continuity between delivery and maintenance of our new iconic system,” Khun Keeree Kanjanapas, Chairman of the Board of Directors, BTSC said.
Under the contract, Bombardier will maintain the monorail trains, comprising 288-cars, as well as the system’s guideway switches and depot equipment. In 2017, Bombardier signed the contracts to deliver its full turnkey Innovia monorail 300 systems for Bangkok’s Pink Line (Khae Rai – MinBuri line) and Yellow Line (from Lat Phrao to Samrong). Under the contract for these two lines, Bombardier will design and supply the mechanical and electrical elements for the two monorail lines, and deliver a combined total of 72, four-car Innovia Monorail 300 trains (288 cars) equipped with Cityflo 650 automatic train control technology for driverless operation.
Operating in the city’s northern and eastern areas, the monorails will integrate with the existing transportation network and run at speeds up to 80 km/h with a maximum capacity of over 28,000 passengers per hour, per direction.
