USD 400 million for Victoria’s public transport projects

Under the 2017-18 Victorian Budget, the government announced significant investments in metropolitan public transport projects. Under the budget, AUD 534.5 million (USD 400.9 million) will be delivered for the metropolitan projects and initiatives.
These include USD 140.5 million for Frankston line stabling, USD 145 million to make all night public transport on weekends permanent, USD 50 million for the enhancing safety on the train. Other metropolitan projects involve the improvement of Victoria’s busiest train stations and public transport accessibility.
In addition, the budget will provide USD 163.6 million for 10 E-Class trams and infrastructure projects.
