PKP signs another contract on rail modernisation in Warsaw agglomeration

Polish railway infrastructure manager, PKP PLK, and Intercor-Mosty Łódź consortium signed a PLN 285 million (EUR 67.56 million) contract for the modernisation of Grodzisk Mazowiecki-Warsaw suburban line on Warsaw agglomeration. The works are scheduled to start in May and the project should be completed in 1.5 years.
The contract involves the modernisation of 22 km double track line, 6 stations, the traction system across the line and 15 level crossings.
“The modernisation of the line from Grodzisk Mazowiecki to Warsaw is another important investment in the Warsaw agglomeration. For passengers it will mean more convenient and faster travel and railway access that involves the construction of a new stop at Parzniewo. Similar projects are implemented in Krakow,” Andrzej Bittel, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction said.
