PJM unveils its mobile calibration test rig

PJ Monitoring GmbH (PJM) has developed a mobile calibration test stand which is already in use and ensures measurement reliability including for the on site projects. The mobile calibration test stand has already proven its worth during the first ‘field test’ and was used in a project for the Swiss transport company Rhaetian Railway. “We can react quickly and flexibly to customer requirements even under challenging conditions,” Martin Joch, the CEO of PJM said.

The advantages of the mobile calibration test includes:

  • After reprofiling the measuring wheel sets, recalibration can be performed on site;
  • The new type of test stand enables unprecedented performance;
  • The test stand is easy to transport and is therefore ideally suited for worldwide use.

PJM is developing new technologies including the automation of rail freight transport. Last year, the company together with Voith announced an agreement to develop automatic couplers to make rail freight more efficient and competitive. At the beginning of 2022, with Mercitalia, PJM launched the smartest freight train in Europe which is equipped with modern technology to reduce delivery time and costs. In July, PJM obtained TÜV approval for its automated brake testing developed in cooperation with SBB Cargo and Rail Cargo Austria.
