DB Cargo buys back DB Cargo Scandinavia

DB Cargo reacquired from Swedish freight railway company Green Cargo 49% of shares in Danish freight railway company DB Cargo Scandinavia A/S, based in Copenhagen. The price of the transaction has been kept confidential. The acquisition has already been approved by the German Cartel Offices.
This share buyback signals the end of the joint venture with Green Cargo, which had purchased the stake in DB Cargo Scandinavia as part of the JV approx. 10 years ago. However, DB Cargo will continue to collaborate with Green Cargo in transport operations for numerous customers.
This deal also means that DB Cargo is once again the sole shareholder in DB Cargo Scandinavia. Owning 100 percent of the company’s shares will allow DB Cargo to operate through trains from Germany through Denmark to Sweden and back with all-in-one traffic management and a high level of quality. With this investment, DB Cargo is looking to increase its market share in Scandinavia and in particular to attract customers in the Swedish market.
