CPK to sign contracts for preparatory construction work

Eight contractors The company Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK, Solidarity Transport Hub – STH) has selected eight contractors for preparatory construction work at the future Solidarity Port project and the contracts will be signed in the coming days.

CPK is currently finalising the procedure on signing a framework agreement with the eight contractors, including Budimex, Doraco, Mostostal Warszawa, NDI, Polimex Infrastruktura, PORR, Strabag and Trakcja.

“This tender procedure met with great interest on the part of key companies in the construction industry. All of them have the required experience in large infrastructure projects. We sign contracts with the best, which guarantees good cooperation and efficient implementation of construction works related to the Solidarity Port,” the president of the CPK company, Mikołaj Wild said.

The detailed scope of the contract includes, among others leveling and land development, construction of temporary facilities, demolition, connections to the technical infrastructure network for the needs of investment and other works that do not require an architectural and construction design. The estimated value of the order is over PLN 1.7 billion (EUR 350 million).

The agreement also includes numerous works and accompanying services, including the preparation of design documentation and technical specifications for the execution and acceptance of construction works, as well as obtaining administrative decisions, approvals and opinions necessary to carry out the investment, submitting construction and construction works notifications as well as geodetic works and development of as-built documentation.

“The next step is to start the preparatory construction work. Their dates and scopes will be adapted to the processes of obtaining administrative decisions and the acquisition of new real estate by STH,” Krzysztof Owczarczyk, director of the STH Airport Programme Implementation Office said.

The formula of the framework agreement allows CPK to efficiently select contractors. Individual orders will be commissioned as part of simplified executive procedures. The tender took into account, first of all, the conditions and quality criteria, such as bidders’ experience and the possibility of acquiring construction machinery. In the next step, in the processing of executive orders, a large role will be played, among others, by the proposed price and delivery time.

At the same time, CPK conducts several important tenders concerning the investment process. The tenders are very advanced, includingon design and the so-called contract engineer for the CPK railway lines. In the procedure for the design of the general designer of the terminal and railway station, the company invited five international architectural offices to submit bids, which participated in the competitive dialogue.

Recently, CPK announced the investor variant for Warsaw – Łódź high-speed railway line covering a 140 km rail route.
