Bulgaria launches signalling tender for Sofia-Voluyak rail section

Bulgarian state-owned National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) has initiated a tender for the design and installation of new signalling and telecommunications systems for a railway section between Sofia and Voluyak, to the west of the capital. The tender also includes the design and installation of a European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS). The works must be completed within three and a half years. Bids are expected until 18 May.
The estimated value of the contract is BGN 48.0 million (EUR 24.5 million). The contract will be partially financed from part of the proceeds of a EUR 76.1 million grant for the development of the railway section under the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility.
