ADIF awards maintenance contract for HSR

ThalesADIF has awarded Thales a new contract worth EUR 61.5 million for the maintenance of the Madrid-Seville high-speed lines and the La Sagra-Toledo and Cordoba-Malaga branch lines. The contract includes the preventive and corrective maintenance work to resolve specific incidents occurring at the various line traffic control facilities, interlocking systems, train protection systems and associated elements. It is expected for these works to be carried out over a 36 month period between 2016 and 2019.
The Madrid-Seville High-Speed Line was inaugurated in 1992 and since 2005, Thales has been responsible for the maintenance of this line as well as that of the La Sagra-Toledo branch line. The latter added 21km to the 470 km total dual-track length of the line. Thales has also been responsible for the maintenance work carried out on the 133 km long Cordoba-Malaga line since its inauguration in 2007.
