Voith RailPacks for Coradia Lint train platform

Coradia Lint for Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn

Alstom awarded Voith a contract for the delivery of RailPack 400DM and an innovative mechanical transmission, for Coradia Lint train platform. Starting in April 2021, Voith will deliver its diesel-mechanical RailPack 400DM units for Alstom’s regional train platform.
The RailPack 400DM units will be delivered over the course of five years. An order for the first 24 units has already been approved. The RailPack 400DM consists of the low-emission Voith Rail Engine in accordance with the Stage V emission standard as well as an innovative new mechanical transmission specially designed for use in DMUs. The solution’s power density, enables a speed of up to 145 km/h.
The RailPack 400DM also includes an innovative mechanical transmission based on the manufacturer’s DIWARail. The transmission will offer improved fuel consumption, further adding to the system’s environmentally friendly operation. As a single product, this new transmission will officially be launched in 2020.
This year, Alstom has received orders to supply 67 Coradia Lint regional trains, with a total value of EUR 275 million.
Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn ordered eight Coradia Lint regional trains valuated at EUR 45 million.
This June, Landesanstalt Schienenfahrzeuge Baden-Württemberg signed a EUR 80 million contract for 18 Coradia Lint trains and for Bavaria, a EUR 150 million contract for 41 Coradia Lint regional trains was signed with Transdev.
