Transmashholding unveils new shunter for Russian Railways

Transmashholding-TEM28_09837cbb4e26e1ab8ee9c0c83b5019c7Transmashholding  subsidiary Bryansk Engineering Plant (BMZ) has unveiled a prototype six-axle shunting locomotive for Russian Railways (RZD).
The six-axle TEM28 has a nominal output of 895kW and BMZ says the modular design principles it has adopted for the locomotive have minimised development and production costs while simplifying maintenance and repair for the operator.
Constructors paid special attention to the new locomotive for comfortable working conditions for locomotive crews, developing a cab with all-round visibility. This BMZ design was first applied on the locomotive TEM-TMH modular principle layout and TEM35 with hybrid power plant.
