Track and systems RFQ for California HSR launched

The California High-Speed Rail Authority has issued Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for track and systems contract which envisages design and construction of trackwork, railway systems, electrification, as well as testing and commissioning. The companies will have until September 5 to submit their statements of qualifications.
The contract will also include a 30-year term of maintenance for both the underlying civil works and track and systems work, which would include construction of necessary maintenance facilities.
The contractor would perform interface and integration duties with respect to the authority’s other contractors. As proposed, the track and system work would be issued through multiple Notices to Proceed (NTP), ranging from San Francisco to the Central Valley.
The authority will organise an Industry Forum on august 5, where companies will have the opportunity to network and learn more about the track and systems procurement.
In October 2019, the authority expects to launch the request for proposal, and the proposal due date is set for April 2020.
