Toronto Mayor John Tory and TTC chair John Colle announced the improvements that will start in September for 33 TTC bus and tram routes. These improvements are part of an effort to restore service cuts made under former mayor Rob Ford’s administration.
The improvements, mostly for non-rush hour service, are part of USD 95 million already earmarked in the 2015 budget. They are also aimed at reducing crowding on existing routes, TTC chair John Colle said.
The routes selected for improvement are: 7 Bathurst, 25 Don Mills, 36 Finch West, 42 Cummer, 53 Steeles East, 63 Ossington, 95 York Mills, 133 Neilson, 198 U of T Scarborough Rocket, 22 Coxwell, 34 Eglinton East, 38 Highland Creek, 44 Kipling South, 54 Lawrence East, 84 Sheppard West, 100 Flemingdon Park, 191 Highway 27 Rocket, 199 Finch Rocket, 24 Victoria Park, 35 Jane, 39 Finch East, 52 Lawrence West, 60 Steeles West, 89 Weston, 106 York University, 192 Airport Rocket, 501 Queen, 504 King, 509 Harbourfront, 505 Dundas, 511 Bathurst, 506 Carlton and 512 St. Clair.
