TikhvinSpetsMash, a subsidiary of United Wagon Company, has obtained a certificate from FBO “Register of Certification on the Federal Railway Transport” for the production of 40-foot flat cars to be used for the transport of containers, including tank containers with hazardous loads.
The key competitive advantage of the model 13-6851-05 is enhanced reliability and safety in transportation of heavy containers, achieved by bogies designed for a high axle load of up to 25 tf and reinforcement of the main beam and container twistlocks. The use of a class-T3 draft gear ensures safe transport of tank containers with hazardous loads. The load capacity has been increased to 80 tons and the car is 14.62 m long, allowing the transportation of large containers with a gross weight of up to 36 tons.
The flat car was designed by the All-Union Research and Development Centre for Transportation Technology. The interval between scheduled repairs is 800,000 km or 8 years. Service life is 40 years.
