Thailand: southern railway network to be protected by drones

07-bangkokDrones will be used to patrol the railway network in the south of Thailand after the bombing in Pattani, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon said. The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) would be deployed while soldiers, police and railway staff would work together more closely to ensure safety of train services between the Hat Yai and Sungai Kolok train stations, said Defence Minister Gen Prawit.
The bomb damaged a local southern train from Sungai Kolok to Hat Yai in Khok Pho district, Pattani. The railway track bombing killed a railway employee and injured another one and two passengers.
