SZDC finalizes modernization of Teplice-Hustopeče rail section

05-szdcCzech railway infrastructure manager SZDC has improved parameters of the railway track from Hranice na Moravě to Střelná in the Teplice nad Bečvou (excl.) – Hustopeče nad Bečvou (excl.) section.
Within the project, modifications to the track superstructure and substructure, platforms, railway crossings, bridge structures, and subcomponents of the traction mains were made. In railway stations Černotín and Milotice nad Bečvou, new level foot-crossings were built for passengers, with a traffic-light interlocking system.
”The greatest benefit of construction works on the route 280 is the particular increased travelling comfort and operation safety. Project implementation enables to increase the speed limit in the section between the stations Teplice nad Bečvou and Hustopeče, which should have positive effects on reduced travelling times,” stated Pavel Surý, Director General of SŽDC.
The cost of the project was  CZK 630 million (EUR 23 million). The project was implemented under the Operating Program Transportation, being co-financed by the European Union with up to CZK 471 million (EUR 17 million).
