Strabag Rail receives contract in Czech Republic

01-strabag cehiaStrabag Rail a.s., a subsidiary of Strabag SE, has been awarded a contract by the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration (Správa železniční dopravní cesty) to renovate the 46 km long rail line between Okříšky and Zastávka u Brna in the south of the country.
The renovation works will contribute to shorter travel time on the line by making adjustments to the track geometry and thanks to partial switch renewal. Passenger comfort will be increased through the renovation of several stations, in particular Třebíč station. Strabag will repair both the track and the substructure along the entire line, as well as renovating bridges and re-strengthening railway crossings to comply with the increased speeds.
The project has a value of about € 34 million and is being co-financed by the EU from the Cohesion Fund. Construction begins this summer and is to be completed by July 2017.
