South Buda tram modernisation to be completed this autumn

DSC02181Until the end of August, Budapest transport company, BKK, will continue the modernisation of tram network in the South Buda area of Budapest. A total of 55 tram stops will be refurbished in Alkotás utca, Bartók Béla út, Fehérvári út and Villányi út to provide barrier-free accessibility.
In addition, BKK refurbish the new CAF trams’ vehicle maintenance depot in Budafok, a project that is expected to be finished by Aprilie 2017, in connection with the procurement of the CAF trams. The new stop platforms –   adjusted to the height of the new trams’ floor and to their vehicle length – will be 26 cm high and 36 metres long.
