South African transport minister focuses on public transport projects

„One of the key priorities that will benefit from the R5.5 billion (EUR 390 mln) allocated to her department is public transport. The budget will help build and operate integrated public transport networks in 13 cities”, said South African transport minister Dipuo Peters.
The minister explained that is in line with the National Development Plan (NDP). “Government is serious about improving the public transport system hence they have already invested over R53 billion (EUR 3.7 bln) in the Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa).”
