Serbia: three sections of X Trans-European Transport Corridor launched

04-rzd-serbiaRZD International Ltd., a subsidiary of RZD, has completed the reconstruction of the three northern sections of the X Trans-European Transport Corridor in the Republic of Serbia. The reconstruction was finished ahead of schedule. As a result of the project, train speed on these stretches has increased from 30 kph to 120 kph.
The total length of the reconstructed railway sections is over 65 km: Sopot Kosmaysky – Kovachevats (18 km), Mala Krsna – Velika Plan (29 km) and Ruma – Golubinci (18 km). The total cost of the reconstruction of these three sections amounted to USD 48.7 million.
The X Trans-European Transport Corridor connects Salzburg in Austria with Thessaloniki in Greece via Zagreb, Belgrade and Skopje.
