Serbia: new tender for sale of Zelvoz rail factory

Serbia’s Bankruptcy Supervision Agency has launched a new tender for the sale of the factory of insolvent rolling stock repairer and manufacturer Zelvoz (Smederevo). Interested investors will be able to place bids for the purchase of the factory and other assets of Zelvoz by 21 February.
The assets include a rail carriage repair hall, the entire capital of four subsidiaries, spare parts and accounts receivables. The estimated value of Zelvoz’ assets to be sold is 1.153 billion dinars (EUR 9.3 million).
The company was sold for EUR  1.5 million to a consortium in 2007, but the privatisation deal was cancelled in 2011. Zelvoz entered insolvency proceedings in July 2015. Two tenders were launched to sell the assets of the company, in June and November 2016, but no bidders turned up.
